Air Force Group X And Y Syllabus 2016-2017

Indian Air Force Group X Exam is conducted for technical and non technical airmen vacancies in the force. The Central Airmen Selection Board (CASB) is tasked with the responsibility of selection and enrollment. CASB has 14 airmen selection centers located all over India. Candidates who clear this exam are first required to undergo 12 weeks of Joint Basic Phase Training at Basic Training Institute Belgaum (Karnataka). After successful completion of JBPT candidates are allotted trades and then provided trade specific training.
Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / equivalent examination with subjects of  Mathematics, Physics and English, with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English
OR
Three year Diploma course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognised Polytechnic Institute with minimum overall aggregate of 50 percent marks and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in diploma.

The candidates applying to the Group Y Trade (except Medical Assistant and Musician) posts shall be Class 12th passed with a minimum of 50% marks obtained in English as a separate subject and in aggregate from any recognized central/ state Boards of India for being eligible in the concerned recruitment exam.

Pattern of Examination: The candidates applying for the above stated positions should appear and qualify in the following examinations: 1) Group Y (Non Technical Trades) – RAGA (Reasoning & General Awareness) 

Duration of Exam: 45 Minutes 

PFT(Physical Fitness Test)- 

It consists of the following: 1.6 km run to be completed in 8 minutes; IAF (Security) – 2.4 km run to be completed within 8 minutes and 5 km run to be completed in 15 & 30 minutes respectively.
