10 Greatest Indian War Heroes Who Fought For Country

Read out the story of 10 Greatest Indian War Heroes. These are the real heroes of Indian Army who fought for us.These are not only Indian war heroes, but they also showed immense courage and bravery.  These Real War Heroes of India will be remembered forever.  These people fight for their government and carries the weapons, risking their life in the process. There is a List of 10 Biggest War Heroes of Independent India.

List of 10 Greatest Indian War Heroes of the country:-


10. Lieutenant - Colonel Dhan Singh Thapa :- 


Dhan Singh Thapa was born in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. He is from Nepali parents. Dhan Singh Thapa was an Indian Army Major.  He was involved in the major action at Ladakh during the Sino Indian war. The Chinese troop attacked heavily on his company in Ladakh region. Major Dhan Singh Thapa and his team fought bravely and Chinese decided to go back and return with biggest force. The Chinese again attack, now with the tanks to support the infantry. The team of Major Thapa is already suffered large number of casualties in the earlier attacks. Major Thapa killed many Chinese enemy in this war. He won the Param Vir Chakra Award for his Bravery. It is the India's highest military decoration. He is one of the Greatest Indian War Heroes.

9. Naik Jadu Nath Singh :-


 Naik Jadu Nath Singh was born on 21st November 1916 in Khajuri village, Uttar Pradesh. He was an Indian Soldier who fought the Indo-Pak war of 1947 in Jammu and Kashmir. There were only few people guarding the post at that time, the enemy force strength was higher. Naik Jadu Nath Singh displayed great valor in the battle. At last Naik Jadu Nath Singh was hit by two bullet in his head and died bravely, making sure that his post is safe. He was honored with the highest war time Gallantry Medal, Param Vir Chakra, Posthumously.

8. Major Somnath Sharma- First recipient of Param veer Chakra :-


Major Somnath Sharma was born on 31st January  1923 in Brahmin family. He was recipient of Param Veer Chakra. He was awarded for his bravery in the Jammu and Kashmir operation in November 1947. His last message to Brigade was received a few minute before he was killed. He said " The enemies are only 50 yards away from us, we are heavily outnumbered. I shall not withdraw an inch but will fight to our last man and our last round. He is the Real War Hero of India who saved the Kashmir.

7. Rifleman Sanjay Kumar :-

 
Sanjay Kumar was born on 3rd March 1976 in Himachal Pradesh. He worked as taxi driver in Delhi before selecting in Indian army. He was rejected three times before he was finally selected to join the army. Sanjay Kumar was moving towards capturing area flat top in Kargil War. Even though he was bleeding profusely from the bullet wounds, he picked up the enemy machine gun and killed many enemy soldier. He was awarded with Param Veer Chakra for his Bravery.

6. Lieutenant Colonel Ardeshir Tarapore :-


 Lieutenant Colonel Ardeshir Tarapore was born on 19th August 1923 in Mumbai. He was an Senior Officer in Indian Army. Ardeshir leading his troops against Pakistani army in 1965 war went ahead with the aim of destroying every enemy and they succeed in their mission. He was awarded for his action in the battle. He is one of the Greatest War Hero of Independent India.

5. Flying Office Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon :-


Flying Office Nirmal Jit Singh Sekhon was born on 17th July 1945, Ludhiana. He was the officer of Indian Air Force. During the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971, Srinagar airfield was attacked by six Pakistani Air Force Jet. First he engaged two jet and destroyed both Air Jet. But again four Air Craft attacked on Nirmal Jit Singh . He continue fight for saving Srinagar Air Base, but unfortunately he was hit and died. He was honored with the Param Veer Chakra.

4. Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal :-


Arun Khertarpal was born on 16th December 1950 in Pune, Maharashtra. He was died in the Battle of Basantar during the Indo Pakistan war of 1971 where his action earned him his honour.  Arun Khetarpal destroyed four tanks of enemy alone and fight till the last breath. Last tank that he shoot was only 100 meter away and there he suffered another injury which resulted in his death. His name is mention in the List of 10 Biggest War Heroes of Independent India.

3. Lance Naik Albert Ekka :-


Albert Ekka was born on 27th December 1942 in Bihar, India. He was the soldier in Indian Army. During the time of Battle of Hilli , without caring he marched towards the enemy bunker and destroyed many enemies. He was killed in the action in the battle of hilli, during the Indo-Pakistan war of 1971. He was posthumously awarded the Param Veer Chakra, India,s highest award for valour in the face of the enemy.

2. Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav :-


Yogendra Singh Yadav was born on 10th May 1980 in Uttar Pradesh, India. He was one of the Indian War Heroes of India. He was an Junior Commissioned Officer of the Indian Army. He was the real hero who fought with many enemies and captured Tiger Hill. He kept himself alive and reach Indian headquarter and give information about the enemy. Then Yogendra Singh Yadav was saved and later awarded with the Param Veer Chakra.

1.Captain Vikram Batra:-


.Captain Vikram Batra was born on 9th September 1974 in Himachal Pradesh, India. He was an Officer of Indian Army. Captain Vikram Batra was fought bravely in the kargil war. He and his troop was attempting a rescue operation under heavy fire of Pakistan Army. At the time of rescue operation he pushed the Subedar and said- You have children's, step aside. He was killed during this rescue operation. He led one of the toughest operation in mountain welfare in Indian history. He is the Real War Hero of Independent India.
