Rakesh Sharma was very talented.He joined IAF in 1966 and soon he became a test Pilot in Indian Air Force in 1970.He was selected as cosmonaut on 20 Sept 1982 and went into space as a part of joint programme between the ISRO and Soviet Intercosmos space programme.He spent his 7 days 21 hours and 40 minutes in the space and was the first Indian who went to the outer space.
