Microsoft has no remorse about changing the user inaterface. Because no one  would be happy if motorbike came with the accelerator on the left side and clutch on the right side next year. I personally like the windows 10 start menu because I can customize it with my suitable purpose. But if you want older version windows menu, just read on.

Get Windows 7's Start Menu in Windows 10

You can get very close prototype of earlier windows start menus with classic shell. The program is free but if you appreciate the product after encouraged by the website for donations, its a great indication.

After installing the classic shell and first time you click on the start button, you don't get any menu. Instead of it you'll get a dialog box of program settings. If you close dialog box and click again on the start button, you will get classic shell's windows 7 default start menu.
If you want to go back to that dialog box, just press right click on the start button and select settings.

Choose One of the Three Menus

Here you will be able to choose from three menu designs, classic style looks pre-XP, except with a search field classic with two columns looks like XP windows menu but It looks like windows vista much. The default looks almost exactly linke Windows 7.
Below the styles, you will find options for changing looks of start button. The program offers only two options but you can make and add your own. Its worth checking out the other three tabs on the settings dialog box. For example, you can have the menu directly get back to the windows 10 user interface when you choose the table mode. They have to update their vocabulary.
