How to Use Windows 10's File History Backup Feature?

Windows 10 file history is an easy way to get started with backing up your personal files.
The feature takes snapshots of versions of your files and stores them on an external storage of harf drive. Over time, You build up a library of past versions of files that you can recover if need to be. for example, you like a sentence from the list of first version of file, but you deleted it long time ago and are now battling with regret. You can go deeply into file history, to receive the right and correct version of your file and copy the sentence.

Use Windows 10's File History Backup Feature

In windows 10, you can still get at File History from the control panel, but there's also an easier way through the settings application. To access the version of file, open the settings application and go to update and security => Backup.

Automatically Backup My Files

Once you are there, connect your external hard drive to the windows and then in setting application click on the "+" next to add a drive. You'll see a pop-up to choose an external drive, choose the one you want to add and that's it. File history is now collecting you data, An off/on slider will appear under the new heading called "automatically back up my files"
By default, Windows 10 File History will take back up all the folders in your User folder. If you want to add another folder into file history, or to remove some, click on more options under the off/on slider and scroll down to "Back up these folders."

Add Folders In Backup Files

From here, you can add a folder by clicking the plus(+) button icon placed at the top of the list. If you want to remove a folder scroll down to find it, Click on the highlight and then click on the remove/delete button.
Below that list you can also create a folder list to especially remove or stop backing up to the currently selected drive and choose another one. You can also select how file history backup your files and how long windows stores your revisions.

Once file history is enabled, a neat new trick to open older versions of a file is to right click on it in the file explorer and select the properties. In the new window that opens, select the previous versions tab for quick access to archival versions of your file.
