How to Access Music Stored on OneDrive Using Xbox Music

Microsoft expand the functionality of the Xbox Music on the other side of strictly paid streaming service. You can now upload music by new functionality added by Microsoft, which you have already on your one drive account and access it on your Xbox.

It's welcome addition to the service, especially for those who would rather not pay monthly free for access the Microsoft Music.

Access Music Stored on OneDrive Using Xbox Music

The service is same as the Apple's iTunes or Google's Play Music. Google and Microsoft offer their services for free. The process for using the Xbox Music to stream your music is simple.

Firstly, you need to decide if you want to install the OneDrive app in your system or  use the website to upload music. Keep decide a limitation in your mind. The websites down't allow you to upload folders. If you have 10000 songs, you can't simply drag and drop you music folder to upload on website.
The OneDrive application does allow you to upload entire folders. I suggest going this route, especially if you have large music files.

Installing One Drive

After installing the One Drive. Sign in to OneDrive using you Microsoft Account yoou use for your Xbox. If you have not any, you have to sign up first. After signed in OneDrive account, start uploading music from your music folder to OneDrive account. If the musice is stored anywhere else Xbox music would not see it.

While you music uploads, install  the Xbox Music app in your system. You can stream your music from windows 8.1 PC, through Xbox Music website.

If you want to listen your music, open the Xbox application in you syste, pick your favorites and start dancing.
