Inspiring Stories of 10 Ordinary Indians Who Are Doing Something Extraordinary :-

1. Rangu Souriya :-


Rangu Souriya is a Indian social worker. She has saved more than 8000 girls from the sex trafficking. Most of the girls are under 18 years. She is the founder of NGO - Kanchanjunga Uddhar Kendra , this NGO help victims of sex trafficking. Her bravery and good work earned the Godfrey Philips National Bravery Award in 2011. She has been also honored by many organizations for her good work.She also received the 100 Women Achievers of India Award by the Indian President.

2. Varun Shrivastava :-


Varun Shrivastava helps the slum children in education and trying to provide better life by his NGO. He run a NGO named UPAY ( Under Privileged Advancement by Youth ) for the children who live in slums area. During his IIT Kharagpur days many times he saw children in slums , railway stations and beg on the traffic signals. He wanted to do something for them . In 2010 he started a NGO , UPAY and in current time UPAY has more than 120 volunteers and a team of professors , engineers , teachers and doctors and many other professionals.

3. Aditya Tiwari :-


Aditya Tiwari is the Software Engineer by profession. When he was 28 years old , he decided to adopt a children with special abilities but the existing rules did not allow him to adopt a child because he was below the age 30. He fought for two years with government. Finally he won the case and adopted the child. After the adoption he named the child Anish Tiwari.

4. Ravi Gulati :-

 
Ravi Gulati is an NGO worker. He graduated with an MBA degree from the IIM , Ahmedabad. He started his carrier in the corporate sector of Canada but after the eight months he give up and returned to India. After returning he pursue a course in Environment Education from CEE , Ahmedabad. He is an Indian Social Activist and he gives tuition to the poor children and underprivileged New Delhi.

5. Dr. Tessy Thomas :-


Dr. Tessy Thomas is known as the ' Missile Women ' of India. She is the project director of Agni - III missile project. She is the first women scientist to head a missile project in India. She has been also honored by the Lal Bahadur Shashtri National Award. 

6. Babar Ali :-


Babar Ali is the student and teacher in the West Bengal. In October 2009 , BBC called him the " Youngest headmaster in the world " at the age of sixteen. He runs his owns school for the poor children. He teach them after his school timing. He started teaching at the age of 9 years. In current time there are 800 children learning at this school. He won the Real Heroes Award and of the Indian news channel for his work.

7. Subhashini Mistry :-


Subhashini Mistry works as a housemaid and vegetable vendor and she saved her whole life earning and established a hospital in her village. This was her dream to build a hospital because she could not afford proper treatment and medicine of her husband and he passed way. In the age of 23 , she become a widow. Her younger son is doctor in this hospital. This is the 25 bed hospital with 12 doctors and runs on donation.

8. Sindhutai Sapkal :-


Sindhutai Sapkal is popularly known as the Mothers of Orphans. She devoted her entire life for the orphans. She was abandoned by her husband when she was beyond last month of her pregnancy. She gave birth to a baby girl in the cow shelter outside their husband house and after giving birth she walk many kilometer to her mother's house but her mother also refuse to shelter her. She started begging on the railway stations and she realised that there are many children abonded by their parents. She decided to be mothers of all Orphans. She is the mother of 1050 orphans children. In present time she has a grand family. Many of the children she adopted is well educated lawyers , doctors and teachers. A Marathi film Mee Sindhutai Sapkal is the true story of Sindhutai. 

9. Venkatraman :-


Venkatraman is the ordinary man living in Tamil Nadu. He offers 1 rupees meal to the poor people everyday. His mess is near the Erode General Hospital and most of the customers are the relatives and friends of admitted patient in the hospital. He also provide twenty percent to the physically disabled peoples. 

10. Dr. Ravindra Koelhe :-


Dr. Ravindra Koelhe runs his clinic in Melghat , Maharashtra. He is a good doctor and also a social worker. He treat patient for a nominal fee of 2 rupees for the first consultant and 1 rupees for the second consultant. He provided low cost service to the patients from last 25 years.
